How to you get inspired to make a change?
I had a session of Access Consciousness that literally saved my life. I was so depressed and unhappy, I was out of here. I had this session, and I got this sense of joy and gratitude for being alive. When I started working with Gary (co-founder of Access Consciousness), he asked me questions about what I desire. He asked me questions about what was true for me and he asked me to look beyond everything that I had decided was true for me that I had picked up from everybody in life. It wasn’t about getting rid of anybody; it was about seeing what you really desire.
“I think a lot of people are stuck in the idea that they can’t change whatever it is, so part of it is showing that change is possible within minutes.”
Do you think we have trouble asking for what we want and sometimes need that little bit of a push?
We have been taught not to ask. If we would ask more questions we’d get more from everything around us. From my point of view, someone telling you what you need or require never really works, because they haven’t lived your life. But someone who’s willing to ask you questions about what you would truly desire, that could get you to finally look into the right direction of what it is you’d like and start to create it.
It’s also about showing people that change is actually possible. I think a lot of people are stuck in the idea that they can’t change whatever it is, so part of it is showing that change is possible within minutes.
Can you tell me about some of the success stories?
There are thousands of them. One of them was like, “I was so depressed I couldn’t lift my head off the table.”
A lady the other day said, “I didn’t even come to do this Access stuff to get self help or anything. I just found myself here one day because I was watching videos now and it’s the most wonderful thing because I’ve been waking up happy every day. I haven’t had that for 53 years.”
She’s also actually started to create money for the first time and reconciled her relationship with her estranged daughter.
“Have you ever hung around someone who’s unhappy and then you start becoming unhappy? It’s the same with judgement.”
Why do some people never feel validated or find it hard to accept compliments?
People pick up on the judgments people have all around them. It’s weird because we’re like big psychic radio receivers. Have you ever hung around someone who’s unhappy and then you start becoming unhappy? It’s the same with judgement. We’ll be picking up on judgements all around us, and we’ll think this that it’s somehow ours, because no one has ever asked us “who does this judgement belong to?” If it lightens up at all, it’s not your judgement. And if you do this for three days, it will feel like you’re walking around in a walking-talking meditation.
Is channeling this inner positive energy a way people can get willpower and land that dream job?
Absolutely. And there are questions we can ask ourselves:
- What is true for me that isn’t true for anybody else I know?
- What’s right about me that I’m not getting? We spend so much time looking at what’s wrong with us.
- How does it get any better than this? You can ask this when something good happens and it makes it even better, or you can ask it when something bad happens and it makes it even better.
What is the upside to being Dr Dain Heer?
Getting to have more fun than anybody else I know, and getting to see thousands of people change for the better often times based on some contribution that I’ve been able to be to their lives.
