Hazal is the Social Media and Marketing Manager at THE UPSIDE. A journalist by trade, Hazal has found a hub for her passion of popular culture, healthy living and positive thinking through The Upside Life.
Niki is a writer and marketer with a fierce passion for holistic health and wellness. You could say she’s equal parts extremely motivated and laid-back when it comes to reaching peak wellbeing. She’s all about applying Kaizen to her “lifestyle experiments” – exploring and uncovering the most efficient and effective habits that make a noticeable and meaningful improvement to her day. For Niki, identifying these “health hacks” is all about simplifying the healthy lifestyle and making it stick. Over the years she has discovered the addictive wonders of meditation, yoga, wholefoods, and positive living. In addition to embracing these, in her downtime you’ll find her at the beach, working her way through her Urbanspoon wish list, sweating it up on the dance floor and dreaming up the next travel adventure.
Ava is the Manager of Health, Sport and Exercise Science Facilities at the University of the Sunshine Coast. She leads a technical services team to support the delivery of teaching programs and research activities in sport and exercise science, nutrition and dietetics, occupational therapy and education. Ava has a BSc and MSc in sport and exercise science, is a Level 2 Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) and an accredited Exercise Scientist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA). She is also an accredited personal trainer (15 years) and teaches mat work Pilates (12 years). Ava is currently completing her PhD on the topic of body composition assessment methods including dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA). Most early mornings you can find Ava finding her Zen by catching waves at her local surf break.
Annita is a journalism student from UNSW with a passion for health, fitness and entertainment. As a past Health Science student, she takes the holistic approach for health and wellbeing. She loves to make healthy choices, but as a foodie, has no restrictions. She lives for fitness holidays and strived to try new things each day. If you want to keep up with Hollywood’s latest health and fitness craze, she’s your girl!
TV Producer and Journalist, Sarah has a passion for all things health, fitness, sport and lifestyle. Sarah has extensive experience as a freelance TV/video Producer, sports journalist and sometimes presenter. A former elite netballer, Sarah has also worked as a PE teacher and at grassroots level for the NRL and AFL.
Jacqueline Kennedy is a writer, social media strategist and creative based in Melbourne, Australia, completing her Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) at RMIT. Jacqueline grew up in a small coastal town in South Gippsland and has since migrated to Richmond, Melbourne, giving her a unique perspective on finding a balanced city to surf lifestyle. With a love of monochrome active wear and creative smoothie combos, she finds inspiration and energy in all things health – from swimming and hiking to horse riding and nutrition.
Ashleigh Went is a fitness blogger, writer, qualified fitness instructor and eternal optimist! Currently furthering her studies in nutrition and fitness, she’s passionate about inspiring people to move their bodies and eat nutritious food to be their happiest and healthiest selves. Having grown up overseas, she loves exploring almost as much as fitness. When she’s not writing, you can find Ashleigh cooking protein pancakes, in the gym or with her head buried in a book.
Lydia is an actor, presenter and writer in Sydney with an enthusiasm for fashion, music, literature and the arts. Kimmy is the founder of KIMMYSMITHFIT a fitness and wellness hub created to help all Mums feel beautiful, fit and strong. Kimmy is the author of the Fit Mummy Project – the Complete Online guide to Post Natal Fitness. She is also a Mummy to two beautiful girls, a former professional athlete and a personal trainer specialising in post natal health.
Steph lives in Christchurch, New Zealand. Passionate about living a happy and balanced life, she loves running, the beach and dancing.
