To launch Clinique’s brand new 3-step Sculptwear range, we joined forces with their wonderful team & our friends at Barre Body to celebrate all things sculpting. An afternoon of pampering began with a little kick in the butt by the gorgeous Emma Seibold, founder of Barre Body, who took us through her brand new Barre Fit class.
For those of you who haven’t tried Barre, it’s designed to tone your entire body, creating longer, leaner muscles. Ballet & Pilates exercises at the barre and on the mat tone your muscles, while complementary yoga postures lengthen and shape your muscles (think long & lean like a ballet dancer!) Barre Fit took it one step further, and after a really fun 40 minute session, we had to learn more about it!
TU: Can you tell me more about this new form of Barre and how it varies from your traditional classes?
Emma: We are so excited for the launch of Barre Fit. It’s a really fun cardio class using resistance bands on the barre. Think big, dynamic movements and constant cardio with the usual burn of our body sculpting barre exercises. It might be my favourite class to date!
“I’ve been using the 3-step process as well as the Sculptwear range for a while and my skin feels gorgeous. Super smooth and definitely firmer. Who doesn’t want that?” – Emma Seibold, Barre Body Founder
TU: What is it about Barre that is getting everyone so hooked?
Emma: Barre Body is the most wonderful blend of everything you need and love in exercise. Dynamic yoga for a beautiful sense of flow and to stretch and shape your muscles, Pilates for posture and core strength, and ballet barre conditioning to really tone and create long, lean muscles. It’s all done at the barre in front of the mirror (perfect for a cute UPSIDE outfit), it’s always creative and varied, it’s always challenging, it works incredibly well, and it’s lots and lots of fun.
(She’s absolutely telling the truth – it was a lot of fun!)
TU: How did you come to launch Barrebody?
Emma: I had a sweet little cherub named Xavier in 2011 and while pregnant, I started to incorporate barre into my yoga practice and felt incredible strong and stayed in great shape throughout my pregnancy. After he was born I started to do more and more barre and saw some incredible physical results. I was doing far less exercise than before and looking and feeling the best I ever had. I knew I was onto something wonderful, particularly with the blend of yoga, and I wanted to share this form of barre so I created Barre Body and opened our first studio in Melbourne in early 2012. It was a huge hit and has gone from strength to strengths since then. We now have eight studios in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and online studio, luxury retreats, DVDs, and a world class barre teacher training program.
Once we sculpted our bodies with barre, we were treated to a ‘how to’ session with the Clinique team who walked us through the 3-step program to sculpt our face. Feeling spoiled, pampered and toned, we wrapped our afternoon with a belly full of gluten free, dairy free & refined sugar free treats from Love Life & Gluten Free.
